TIDAN Black and Grey Tattoo Artist

BIO

Hi, I’m Denis Torikashvili (Tidan), a black and grey tattoo artist in Garden Grove, CA, specializing in realism, portraits, and high-contrast work designed to age well.

I started tattooing in 1997 in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. In 2006 I earned my first award, Best of the Day, at the St. Petersburg Tattoo Convention for a black and grey portrait. Over the years I worked in multiple studios, opened my own shop, and explored many styles, including Japanese, ornamental work, American traditional, and realism. I have deep respect for traditional tattooing because it requires real cultural understanding and full immersion.

In 2014 I moved to Moscow and started from zero again, experimenting with new concepts and building a more original, idea-driven approach. From 2015 to 2017 I traveled across Europe, visited more than 10 countries, worked as a guest artist in many studios, and earned international awards at prestigious European tattoo festivals. From 2017 to 2019 I worked in the UK at No Regrets Tattoo in London.

In 2019 I moved to the United States and spent the next four years at Vatican Studio in Lake Forest, California. On October 3, 2023, I opened my own studio in Garden Grove and named it Inksorcist. Today, the studio is home to three artists, myself, Jason, and Alex, and we also have an apprentice, Jenna.

We built Inksorcist to feel nothing like a typical tattoo shop. It’s a bright, clean, cozy space with great light and a relaxed atmosphere, so you can actually enjoy the entire process. If you’d like to see examples of my work, visit the Portfolio page, check current rates on the Pricing page, and use the Address page to find our studio.
